Jenny’s MacBook Air M1 Screen & Casing Repair – Same-Day Fix

A recent customer, Jenny, came to us after her Apple MacBook Air M1 was accidentally dropped during a university class. The laptop landed on its top-left corner, which caused more than just a cracked screen. Don’t forget to check the Before and After photo at the bottom of this post.

What was damaged

On inspection, we found two issues:

  • The display was cracked
  • The top-left corner of the casing was dented

At first glance, it may seem like a standard screen replacement job. However, the dented corner made things more complicated. The frame had slightly shifted due to the impact, which meant it could no longer securely support a new screen. Installing a new display without fixing the casing would not have been a reliable or long-term solution.

What we did

To repair the device properly, both issues had to be addressed together:

  • Screen replacement
  • Casing repair in the affected corner

Jenny contacted us for a quote, and we provided a fixed price of $399 for the complete repair. This included both the screen and the casing work, so there were no unexpected costs later.

Repair time

She brought the device to our workshop, and we carried out the repair while she waited. The entire process took around 45 minutes.

Once completed, the MacBook was restored to a clean and fully functional condition. The new screen fitted perfectly, and the repaired casing ensured the structure was stable again.

Why this matters

Corner impacts are quite common, but they often cause hidden structural issues. Even a small dent can affect how well the screen sits within the frame.

If only the screen is replaced in such cases, it can lead to problems like:

  • Uneven screen fitting
  • Pressure on the display
  • Higher risk of damage in the future

That’s why it’s important to check the overall condition of the laptop and not just the visible damage.
